Walnut Street Fire
Thu. Jul 25th 2019

On Monday evening at around 6:25pm the Bangor Fire Dept was called to the scene of a working dwelling fire. Smoke could be seen from blocks away. Upon arrival a single-family home was fully engulfed. Firefighters from Roseto, East Bangor, and North Bangor were called in for mutual aid in addition to Blue Valley Rescue Squad standing by for R.I.T.  It was a very hot day so thankfully there was a lot on manpower on scene allowing firefighters to rotate in and out to stay hydrated, to prevent heat exhaustion. The house suffered major damage, but no residents or firefighters were injured that day. Liberty Fire Co #2 would like to thank all the responding departments for their aid and also the neighbors for providing additional water to the crews.  Pictures by 69 News
